Picture book - ages 3-8
There are so many different ways to be smart and it’s so important to teach kids that intelligence is harder to define than just doing well on standardized tests. It’s also about science experiments and making friends and playing the ukulele and knowing directions! How freeing to know you’re worthy regardless of how you use your brain. -Sara
Picture book -- ages 5 and up -- This picture book is based on the true story of Anne-France Dautheville who was the first woman to travel alone on a motorcycle around the world. Not only is this beautifully illustrated, but the story itself was super inspirational and I learned a lot about places around the world (some of which don't even exist anymore!). If you're feeling the 2020 blues because you can't travel, this might be the perfect cure. --Sara

Read it to ground you as you aim for your dreams and spread your wings. Don't forget to slow down for the pictures! -- Casey
Picture book -- ages 4 to 8 -- Subtle and gorgeous, this book features Pokko's quiet frog family, who worry they've made a mistake by gifting her a drum, but soon see that her talent is a poweful means of expression. An all-time staff favorite and a beautiful gift! -- Casey
Beautiful and so important! --Sara
