Clement: An Evening of Poetry

Please Join Green Apple Books on Monday, June 5th at 7:30 pm for an evening of poetry celebrating weird girls with rough edges. 

 

CLAUDIA CORTESE will be giving Lucy life as she reads from her debut full-length collection, WASP QUEEN. Claudia is a poet, essayist, and fiction writer. Her first book, WASP QUEEN (Black Lawrence Press), explores the privilege and pathology, trauma and brattiness of suburban girlhood. Her work has appeared in Black Warrior Review, Crazyhorse, Gulf Coast Online, and The Offing, among others. The daughter of Neapolitan immigrants, Cortese grew up in Ohio and lives in New Jersey. She also lives at claudia-cortese.com

 

EMILY PINKERTON hails from the shadow of Houston refineries, and currently lives and writes in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is an MFA candidate at San Francisco State University, and her writing has previously appeared or is forthcoming in Juked, Anthropoid, BlazeVOX, Pith, Hobart, and LEVELER, among others. Her first chapbook, Natural Disasters, was recently published by Hermeneutic Chaos Press. Her publications can be found at thisisemilypinkerton.tumblr.com, and she tweets as @neongolden. Her favorite color is fog. 

 

ELIZABETH HALL lives and loves in Los Angeles. She is the author of the book I HAVE DEVOTED MY LIFE TO THE CLITORIS (Tarpaulin Sky Press) and the chapbook Two Essays (eophippus labs). She also plays bass in the band Pine Family.
